08 Mar Crosswell Wins Kookaburra Player Of The Round
Fremantle bowler Joel Crosswell has won the Kookaburra Player of the Round after a match-winning display for the Port Boys against Wanneroo at Stevens Reserve on Saturday.
The experienced Crosswell made an important 47 from 45 balls, including several boundaries off the bowling off Mitchell Johnson, as Freo scrambled to 174.
Crosswell played a key part with the ball, taking his own season best return of 4-21 from 6.3 overs as the Roos were bowled out for 89.
Crosswell has played nine First Grade games for the Port Boys in 2015-16 season, taking 14 wickets and contributing some handy runs, including a half-century against Perth two rounds ago.
The award is given out per round with the winner receiving a $100 Kookaburra Voucher, the overall season winner collects a $1500 Kookaburra cricket kit.
The winner is found based on a point system which is:
1 point per run
20 points per wicket
10 points for any catch, stumping or run out
